Loretta Oden is another notable Native Chef who has been dedicated to the research and development of Native foods long before the Native Food Movement. She is one of the very important culinary figures that has had a big impact on Native American Cuisine. Chef Loretta works as a Native food lecturer and food historian across the nation.
Her work has inspired countless other people to engage in this culinary movement. Chef Oden captivates and entertains audiences with her down to earth personality, Native food/culture knowledge and passion for cuisine. Loretta is the former Chef of Corn Dance Cafe in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She also produced a television series for PBS entitled "Seasoned with Spirit."

This is Chef Loretta at TOCA's Basketry and Native Foods Festival at the Heard Museum in Arizona.

Loretta elaborates on the origin and uses of Cholla Buds.

Chef Oden speaks about food and culture while she is demonstrating her dish.

Loretta is also one of the Chefs who has been involved with TOCA's Native Food festival since the beginning and is always a welcome addition to the handful of Native American Chefs.
